Sid's most recent award was his Affiliation to the Brothers of
the Christian Schools.

Sid is no stranger to La Salle's campus, having spent his entire educational career in
service to the University. Sid came to La Salle in 1959 after earning an M.F.A. in Speech and
Drama from the Catholic University of America and a B.S.S. in Economics from St. Mary's College
in Winona, Minnesota. During his time at La Salle, Sid served as technical director,
lighting/scene designer, director, and moderator for the Masque (1959-68, 1984-88) and for
La Salle Music Theatre (1962-77), a semi-professional theatre program which produced two shows
each summer. Sid's theatre experience hasn't just been behind the scenes. He has acted in 16
plays and has directed over 25 others.
Sid also calls another type of stage home--the television stage. During his career, Sid has
worked on a variety of programs about La Salle and the surrounding community. He designed and
constructed La Salle's two previous television studios, as well as the current studio on South
Campus. Sid is still active in television production, producing and directing TV shows for
La Salle 56, our educational access cable station. Sid also oversees the closed-circuit
televising of La Salle's Baccalaureate Liturgy each May and the videotaping of our men's and
women's home basketball games.
In 1986, Sid received the President's Award from La Salle, in
1996 the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching, and in 2000
he was affiliated to the Brothers of the Christian Schools.
