Patrice Oppliger, Ph.D.
A die-hard Cornhusker fan even in hard times, Patrice enjoys playing volleyball, talking sports at McMenamin's Pub, and Folk and Zydeco dancing.

Patrice began teaching at La Salle in 2000. She moved to Philadelphia from Boston where she was teaching full-time at Northeastern University. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, her masters degree at the University of Maine, and her Ph.D. from the University of Alabama in 1996.

Patrice's research interests are gender studies, humor, and media effects. She has been published in communication and humor journals, written book chapters, and presented at national and international conferences.

She recently published a book on the effects and appeal of professional wrestling titled Wrestling and Hyper-Masculinity.
