The DNP Program consists of 38 credit hours beyond the master’s level advanced practice nursing credits. The number of Required Courses is 13: four Core Courses; four Advanced Core Courses; and five Residency Courses. The program must be completed in order of Core, Advanced Core, and Residency. Course requirements will vary depending upon students’ earned graduate degrees and the number of precepted clinical hours from the graduate program of study. Students entering with an MBA degree are required to complete a Nursing Research/Evidence-based Practice bridge sequence of 6 credits with possible waiver of NUR 702 and NUR 609, based on an individualized review.
In addition to the required courses, students may be required to enroll in NUR 881 (Capstone Project Seminar) and/or NUR 883 (Clinical Capstone Residency Seminar should they require additional time for capstone project development or completion. Both courses are 1 credit.
