Calculating Your GPA
In order to graduate from La Salle University you must have a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.00 in your major, in addition to your overall GPA of 2.00

To calculate your GPA in your major, simply follow these procedures:
1.

Which courses are to be used in the calculation of the GPA of your major?

All courses that are required for completion of the major.

2.

List each course along with its corresponding credit worth.
EX: BIO210 is worth 4 credits

3.

Multiply the number of credits by the numeric grade (value) that you received for the course. This will provide you the quality points for the course.

EX: You received a grade of B- in BIO210
Using the table at the top right of this page, find the corresponding numerical value. Thus:

A B- grade = 2.67

The BIO210 course = 4 credits

4 X 2.67 = 10.68

Your quality points for this course= 10.68

4.
Use this formula for each course you have taken in your major.

5.
Add the Quality Points from each of your courses.

6.
Divide the total number of quality points by the total number of credits.

This is your GPA in your MAJOR!
