PreHealth Programs

The Traditional Four Year Student Advisement Program
This program works with typical undergraduate (science or non-science major) students in their preparation toward entrance into health professional schools. Students are advised throughout their fours years about academic prerequisites and other necessary credentials for entrance into these schools.

Allied Health Advisement
A pre-allied health student has an academic advisor in their major plus a pre-allied health advisor, who will insure that the student knows what courses are required for admission to allied health programs. A pre-allied health student can major in any discipline in which they are interested; they cannot major in allied health.

The Albert Einstein Medical Center Shadowing Program

This program was developed to provide another type of mentoring experience for students interested in pursing a career in medicine. This is a one-semester program for interested students. Selected students commit to a minimum of four hours one day per week. They are assigned a resident or fellow to follow during their time at Einstein. This is an excellent program that affords exposure to all aspects of a physician, including surgery, clinic, rounds, etc.

The Post-Baccalaureate Premedical Certificate Program
This program affords individuals an opportunity to change career paths and enter the health professions. The program not only provides students with the necessary prerequisites, but also offers them the same support and advisement as the traditional four-year student. This program has an Accelerated Acceptance Program with Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
