Assistant/ Associate Professor of Political Science, tenure track, Political Science

Position Description:

 

The La Salle University Department of Political Science is seeking candidates for a full time, tenure track, entry level position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the areas of Comparative Government and American Government for the start of the 2010-2011 academic year.  Candidates must have a conferred Ph.D. in Political Science, a demonstrable promise of scholarship, and a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching.  In the area of Comparative Government, candidates must have expertise in Western Europe/European Union and at least one other area of study which could be Asia, Africa, South America or the Middle East.  In the area of American Government, candidates must be prepared to teach the Introduction to American Federal Government (POL. 151) and one upper division course.

 

Qualifications:

Applications should include: (1) a one page letter of application identifying areas of specialization, research/scholarship interests, and teaching philosophy, (2) a curriculum vita, (3) official graduate transcripts, and (4) three letters of recommendation sent under separate cover.  Teaching experience is a plus.  Examples of scholarship and/or summary evidence of teaching effectiveness, where available, may be submitted.  Applications must be submitted by regular, priority or air mail and the department’s review of applications will begin on January 11, 2010.  Electronically submitted applications will not be accepted.
