| This page describes how to install and configure the McAfee anti-virus software that is licenced by La Salle University for all students. It is important that you have an updated version of the software running on your computer at all times to prevent possible virus attacks that could jeopardize your own computer as well as others. | ||||||
| Installing McAfee
You will first need to access the McAfee download on the network F: drive. To map to the F: Drive do the following: 1. Right click My Network Neighborhood (or My Network Places) on the
desktop and click on Map Network drive. After you have mapped to the F:\public folder, navigate to the Download\McAfee\7.1.0 folder. Double click on the Setup.exe file and follow the wizard to install McAfee 7.1.0. NOTE: If you have another anti-virus software running
you will have to uninstall it before you can install McAfee. To uninstall
anti-virus software do the following. |
| Updating McAfee To have McAfee retrieve the latest virus definitions right click on the McAfee shield icon that appears in the bottom right corner of your screen and select 'Update Now...'. A popup will appear saying Update in Progress. |
