McAfee VirusScan is provided FREE to all students living on campus and is required to be installed, running, and up-to-date on all computers in order to gain internet access. If the Clean Access Agent fails to detect the AntiVirus software you'll be redirected to a website where you can download the correct version of McAfee VirusScan for your version of Windows.

You are currently being placed in a Temporary Role with limited network access to perform the necessary updates. Depending on which updates are missing, you may be required to perform several reboots.

Missing “Required Antivirus Update”

 1. If you have McAfee VirusScan installed but the definitions have expired, the Click Update and follow the instructions.

STOP!

IMPORTANT NOTE: YOU MUST UNINSTALL ANY OTHER ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE (I.E. NORTON ANTIVIRUS) FROM YOUR PC BEFORE INSTALLING MCAFEE VIRUSCAN! FAILURE TO DO SO MAY CAUSE YOUR PC TO RUN EXTREAMLY SLOW AND/OR CAUSE PROGRAMS STOP RESPONDING.

1. Click Go To Link

2. Click Definition Updater
3. Click Open
Click Next to accept the default folder location.
4. The McAfee Agent and Updater will install

5. When finished, click OK
6. Install the version of McAfee for your Operating System (Step 2)

7. Click Open (The following shows installation of McAffee VirusScan 8.0i)

8. Click OK
9. Click Setup, and wait for McAfee to unzip and begin setup

10. Click Next
11. Select Perpetual for License type, United Statesfor country, and accept the license terms.

12. Select Typical for setup type, and then click Next

13. Click Install

14. Select Update Now and Run On-Demand Scan. Click Finish

15. Allow Update to complete and the VirusScan to run
 
16. When finished updating and scanning, Click next on Clean Access screen.
