Financial Aid Eligibility
What is my aid eligibility if I am in a prerequisite program
or am taking prerequisites to get into a Masters program?
You can be funded with Federal financial aid if you are enrolled
at least half time (6 credits per semester) for a period of up
to 12 consecutive months. Aid eligibility consists of Federal
Stafford loans, assuming you have remaining undergraduate aggregate
availability. Please file a FAFSA and contact your Financial Aid
Services counselor about your loan eligibility. The Stafford loan
limits for these courses are $5500 subsidized and $5000 in unsubsidized
for the the 12 months.
What is my aid eligibility if I am in the Teacher Certification
Program?
If you have already completed your Masters Degree in Education
and are only getting certified, you can be funded through the
Federal Stafford loan program. The Stafford loan eligibility (if
you have remaining undergraduate aggregate availability) is $5500
in subsidized and $5000 in unsubsidized loams through June 30,
2006 and $7000 unsubsidized after July 1, 2007. You must be enrolled
at least half time (6 credits) per semester. You will be considered
a fifth year undergraduate student while taking courses towards
teacher certification.
What is my aid eligibility for prep courses?
Students can be funded with federal financial aid for twelve consecutive
months if the student is in a prerequisite program (Pre Speech
Language and Hearing and Pre Med) or taking undergraduate prerequisites
to get into a masters program.
Aid Eligibility consists of Stafford loans if they have remaining
undergraduate aggregate eligibility. This needs to be verified
by printing and checking their NSLDS record. All students are
considered fifth year students for Stafford loan limit eligibility
($5500 sub, $7000 unsub since they already have bachelors degrees.
