Capstone Information


One-Semester Capstone
CIS 685 Independent Research
3 credits

Independent research on an approved topic in Computer Information Science. Students will be directed by a faculty member in this research. The topic must be approved by the graduate director and the faculty member who is directing the research. Results of this research should include the preparation of a publishable quality paper and an oral presentation on the research.

Prerequisites: All Core Courses

CIS 685 Timeline for Fall and Spring Semesters
Week 1
 

Approve proposal.

Week 2
 

Outline and Bibliography submitted to faculty advisor.

Week 7
 

First draft submitted to faculty advisor and capstore reviewers.

Week 11
 

Final draft submitted to faculty advisor and capstone reviewers.

Week 13
 

Present results of project.

Week 14
 

Updates to Final Draft completed and submitted to program office, faculty advisors and capstone readers.
Grade submitted to registrar's office.
