Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology - Testimonials
"Earning my Psy.D. from La Salle was a blessing in disguise.
I began my doctoral education in another program, but recognized
that I was not gaining the knowledge and training that I needed
to develop into an ethical and competent psychologist. After transferring
to La Salle, I knew I was in the right place, and I attained a level
of training that has placed me at the top of my cohort in the field."
"La Salle's Psy.D. Program and faculty took an active interest
in cultivating each student into a competent professional in the
field. At La Salle, I gained foundational knowledge, research competence,
interpersonal skill, theoretical knowledge, and proficiency in empirically
supported treatments, all of which are necessary components for
sound professional practice and scientific study."
"One of the best qualities of the Psy.D. Program at La Salle
University is the capacity for the development of a mentoring relationship
with faculty. I believe that my ability to think critically, effectively
engage in appropriate treatment strategies, and allow science to
inform clinical practice, is a direct result of the mentoring process.
Beyond didactic training, experiential exercises, and external practica
and internship training, the exceptional instruction provided by
my mentor at La Salle prepared me to adopt professional roles that
I never imagined possible."

"I am very proud to be a student in La Salle's doctoral program
in clinical psychology. The training I have received has been top-notch,
and I believe this program is one of the best in the area. The faculty
are extremely knowledgeable and always familiar with the most up-to-date
research in the field. As a psychology intern, I believe that my
training at La Salle has prepared me extraordinarily well to meet
the challenges faced by clinical psychologists today."

"I am quite pleased with La Salle's PsyD program. The faculty's
commitment to empirically-supported treatment enables students to
learn to provide the most ethical care to our clients. La Salle's
solid clinical emphasis combined with multiple research opportunities
makes it an unusually strong PsyD course of training; it seems a
bit like a hybrid program, by stressing both practice and research.
It also makes a great difference that my degree will be from an
APA-accredited program."
"The faculty and staff are committed to the students' growth
and display a contagious excitement in the courses they teach. Lifelong
relationships are being built at La Salle between students and their
professors. I strongly recommend this program to anyone interested
in pursuing a career in clinical psychology."

My current mantra: I'm stressed, whining and complaining, AND I
wouldn't change it for the world. The La Salle doctoral program
in clinical psychology is challenging and rigorous. It is also preparing
me to be the best in my chosen field. The program emphasizes the
integration of science and practice, education that includes the
most current advances in theory and practice, and solid training
in empirically supported treatment. It also places a high priority
on ethics and on a deep understanding of the diverse cultures and
environments in which psychologists serve. As a result, students
become highly competent, well-rounded professionals who can work
effectively in a variety of settings. I am confident that I have
received the best possible foundation for my continued professional
development.
