Clinical Interests:
Currently my clinical interests are in the use of a new approach (mindfulness-Acceptance-Commitment based performance enhancement) to athletic and work-related performance developed by Dr. Zella Moore and myself. This approach incorporates mindfulness-based training with strategies and techniques from acceptance-based clinical interventions. In addition, I am currently interested in the study of clinical anger, including the development (with Dr Zella Moore) of a new psychological treatment (Anger Regulation Therapy: ART) for individuals experiencing chronic or acute anger and the violent behavior that often accompanies this anger. In this regard, we have recently establishes the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anger and Violence at the PsyD training clinic (La Salle University Community Center for Counseling and psychological Services).

Research Interests:
Evaluation of the Mindfulness-Acceptance-Commitment based approach to athletic performance; basic scientific study of anger and the development of a treatment protocol for clinical anger utilizing predominantly behavioral/acceptance based strategies); the study of experiential avoidance as a mediator of behavioral disorders and mindfulness as a process and outcome in psychological treatment; psychosocial correlates of and predictors of athletic injury.
