Dear Prospective Graduate Student:

The creation of The Hispanic Institute at La Salle University is one more example of the La Sallian tradition of being responsive to the needs of Society. Clearly, the demographic changes that have occurred, and are likely to continue for the foreseeable future, demand that La Salle University be in a position to provide the necessary training and educational opportunities for those that will have to deal with these demographic changes. In doing so, La Salle University is responding to the Hispanic Community’s needs as well as the needs of the Non Hispanic Community in areas that are crucial to the success of new immigrants and the professionals that serve those new arrivals.

Schools, Hospitals, Doctors and Nurses, Legal and Government Services, Social Agencies, Businesses, Law Enforcement, Banking/Financing entities, Institutions of Higher Education, Municipal/State and Federal Governments, etc., have seen their customers, patients, clients and student bodies dramatically change. La Salle University believes that our educational programs are very effective in preparing professionals, from all of these fields, to effectively deal with these changes: linguistically, culturally and pedagogically.

It is our hope that you decide to prepare yourself, professionally, for these changes and that you choose La Salle University for your learning experience.

Sincerely,

Luis A. Gomez, Ph.D.
