Students admitted into the M.A. program are classified into one of the following groups:

  • Advanced Language Students

  • Not-Advanced Language Students

Advanced Language Students

For advanced language students the curriculum requirement is as follows:

NOTE: An individualized curriculum is designed for students who bring SOME language skills in Spanish

*** Note: From time-to-time, not advance language students are allowed to waive Urban Spanish 1 and/or 2 depending on an assessment of their Spanish proficiency by the director.

When an Urban Spanish course is waived, and elective course is added.

The student is still required to complete a total of 33 credits to graduate.
