Master of Arts in History

The La Salle Advantage

Founded in 1863 by the Christian Brothers, a Catholic order dedicated to teaching and career preparation, La Salle University is well known for its emphasis on excellence in teaching. In addition, the University places a high premium on small class sizes and on close and personal advisement of every student. In more immediate terms, students do not “get lost” at La Salle.

The Department of History is among the strongest of the University’s departments. Each of the department’s faculty has published numerous articles, most have published books, and many have earned international reputations as leading scholars in their fields. In addition, the faculty of the History department routinely earn high student evaluations for teaching, and four of the faculty have won the highly coveted Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching.
