History/History for Educators - Recent Graduates

Some of our recent graduates have gained acceptance into prestigious Ph.D. programs in History.

  • Sara Bischoff, who will have completed both the B.A. and M.A. programs in History during the summer of 2008, has been accepted into the prestigious and highly selective (only ten students were admitted) Ph.D. program in American history at Rice University in Houston, Texas. Sara has been awarded a five-year, tuition-free scholarship, augmented by a very generous annual stipend. She will begin her studies at Rice in the fall of 2008.
  • James Brightman has been accepted at the University of Delaware, Lehigh University, and Temple University.
  • Mickey DiCamillo is now finishing his first year in the doctoral program at the University of Utah.
  • Gregg Pearson, who recently earned the M.A. in History, has been accepted into the Ph.D. program at Lehigh University. Greg was awarded a University Scholarship by Lehigh, and he will begin his studies in American history in the fall semester, 2008.
  • Matt Smalarz has recently been admitted to a truly impressive number of doctoral programs. To date (and the list continues to grow), Matt has been admitted to these programs, nearly all of which have provided a “full ride,” and often with nice annual stipends into the bargain: Clark University; Lehigh University; Loyola University of Chicago; State University of New York at Albany; University of Akron; University of Mississippi; University of Missouri; and the University of Rochester. In the end, Matt has committed to Rochester.
