Information Technology Leadership- Admissions Requirements

To be accepted for admission into the program, a student must present the following credentials:

  1. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher education with an appropriate major. Appropriate undergraduate majors include, but are not limited to, management science, business administration, electrical engineering, systems engineering, mathematics, computer science, physics or psychology. A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 will normally be required.
  2. Official transcripts from all educational institutions attended.
  3. Acceptable score in the Graduate Record Examination General Test (GRE), Miller's Analogies Test (MAT), or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT);
  4. Appropriate background in management science, systems analysis and design, computer programming, data base management, statistics; interpersonal communications. On the basis of admission credentials, students may be required to complete several basic skills and/or foundation courses;
  5. Three to five years professional experience in information technology or business;
  6. Application form; the hard-copy is also available;
  7. $35 Application fee; waived for on-line applications;
  8. Professional resume;
  9. International students: An acceptable TOEFL test score is required of international student applicants. A statement of financial responsibility must also be submitted. Official documentation from your sponsor's financial institution is required. La Salle University also requires that you send your transcripts/marksheets to the World Education Service (www.wes.org), or similar credential evaluation service for an evaluation.   10. Two letters of recommendation from professional and/or technology references;
  11. When applications are complete, candidates will be interview by member(s) of the Admissions Committee.

The program is open to applicants without regard to age, creed, race, sex or national origin. Because oral communication is an integral part of many courses, students must communicate clearly in English. A maximum of six (6) hours transfer credit may be granted for graduate work at another institution.

International Student Supplemental Information

If you decide to apply to the Master of Science in Information Technology Leadership program, please note that applications will only be reviewed when they are complete.

A complete application includes:

  • Application: either paper form or online version (there is no application fee if you apply online at www.lasalle.edu/itleader )

  • Transcripts/Mark-sheets   La Salle University requires that you send your transcripts/marksheets to the World Education Service (www.wes.org), or similar credential evaluation service for a course by course evaluation. The agency should then directly send us their evaluation. We must have a third-party evaluation of your transcript/marksheets to process your application. We reserve the right to determine if the third party agency meets our criteria. If you plan to use another service besides WES, please call our office at 215-951-1222 to check.

  • Professional resume

  • Original Results from either the GRE or MAT or GMAT

  • 2 letters of recommendation

  • FYI:
    Applications must be submitted, in full, to the MS ITL office two months prior to the beginning of the semester you wish to begin your studies.

    Official/Original means that photocopies of any type will not be accepted.

    TOEFL score must be at least 213.

    Bank statements accompanying your statement of financial responsibility cannot be older than 6 months.
