Full-time MBA - Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Full-time MBA Program (FTMBA) accredited?  
La Salle’s Full-time Master of Business Administration Program is accredited by AACSB (the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). Only 30% of business programs worldwide are accredited by AACSB International.

What is the tuition cost?  
The tuition for the 2007-2008 academic year is $8,150 per semester. Students complete the program in 12-22 months.

Are classes offered in the daytime?  
This is a day MBA program.  Some courses are offered in the evening.

How many students are in the program?  
The total program enrollment is 70 students.

What is the minimum GMAT requirement?  
The full-time MBA Program does not have a minimum GMAT requirement. The Admissions Committee considers the full profile of each applicant. The average GMAT score is 500.

Does La Salle offer any assistance in preparing for the GMAT?  
We do! Our very popular (and free) GMAT prep class is enrolling now. In one weekend, we will give you the tools to prepare yourself to take the GMAT. For more information on the class, click here.

What are the specializations in the FTMBA Program? 
Students may specialize in Accounting, Finance, International Business, Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing or General Business Administration.

Is housing available?  
To apply for on-campus housing, please fill out this on-line Application. Information on locating off-campus housing complexes is available here.

Is work experience required?  
Formal work experience is not required.

What is the estimated cost for living expenses in the area?  
Students report living expenses from $1,200/$1,500 per month.

Does the University have a Career Services Office?  
The resources of the Career Services Office are available to graduate students free of charge.

Are scholarships available?  
Partial scholarships are available for US and international students with strong academic profiles.

Average Age: 25 years old

TOEFL: Min. 230, Average 256

GMAT: Average 500

Is it possible to have courses waived based on my background? 
Yes. Foundation courses may be waived based on undergraduate or previous graduate coursework. Students must have received grades of “B” or better in equivalent coursework. If a waiver is not granted, students may opt to take waiver examinations.

How can I find out how many credits I will need to complete my degree?  
The number of credits required depends on your prior academic and professional experience. There is a required minimum of 33 credits and a required maximum of 50 credits. The easiest way to see how many courses will be required is to request a Model Roster. Just fax a copy of your undergraduate transcript and your resume to the MBA Office at 215-951-1886. We will review your credentials and can either fax or mail your completed Model Roster to you.

Is it possible to transfer credits from another MBA Program?  
Students may transfer up to six credits from another graduate business program. A grade of “B” or better is required in classes transferred and each request is evaluated on its own merits.

How long will it take to complete the FT MBA program?  
The program can be completed in 12-22 months.
