
M.A. Degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology
La Salle University offers a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology. Students choose a course of study within one of the following programs:
Marriage and Family Therapy Program
Marriage and Family Therapists evaluate and treat mental and emotional disorders and other health and behavioral problems, and address a wide array of relationship issues within the context of the individual and/or the family system. It prepares students for licensed employment in a variety of clinical settings including private practice.
Professional Counseling Program
This concentration grounds students in counseling and psychological theory and provides training in assessment and treatment to prepare them to be licensed professional counselors. Education and training is oriented toward the adoption of a client-centered, rather than illness-centered approach. Students in this program choose one of 3 majors:
- Professional Counseling
- Addictions Counseling
- Industrial/Organizational Psychology – Counseling & Consulting
Industrial/Organizational Psychology – Management & Human Resources Program
The Industrial/Organizational Psychology – Management and Human Resources Program (I/O-MHR) is for students preparing for administrative positions that do not require licensure.
La Salle’s M.A. Degree is also excellent background for students preparing for doctoral study.
