Master of Business Administration

Saturday MBA - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I complete the entire program on Saturdays?
Yes, you can.  The MBA courses are sequenced so that you can complete 36 credits, all on Saturdays, in just under 24 months.  Foundation courses will not be offered on Saturdays, but all of the other required courses will be.

Is the MBA Program accredited?
La Salle’s Master of Business Administration is accredited by the prestigious AACSB (the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business).  Approximately 10% of business programs worldwide are accredited by AACSB.

Where are the Saturday MBA Program classes held?
Classes are held at the Main Campus, located at 20th Street and Olney Avenue, in Philadelphia.  Classes will be held in College Hall.

When do classes meet?
Two MBA classes meet once a week on Saturdays.  There are two class sessions – one class meets on Saturday morning from 8:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and the second class meets on Saturday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
You can register for one or both classes.

Can I also take evening classes?
Yes, you can if you wish.  However, the Saturday MBA program is designed so that you can attend classes only one day a week and complete your degree in just under 24 months.

Can I start the program without the GMAT exam?
Yes, if you qualify.  Applicants with a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 may apply for conditional admission to the Saturday MBA program.  Upon acceptance, students may enroll for 1 semester and are required to submit acceptable GMAT scores before the end of their first semester.  Conditionally admitted students are generally not eligible for financial aid assistance.

How long will it take to complete the MBA program?
This will depend upon how many credits you need to take.   The Saturday MBA program can be completed in under 24 months.

Is it possible to have courses waived based on my background?
Yes.  Foundation courses may be waived based on undergraduate or previous graduate coursework. Students must have received grades of “B” or better in equivalent undergraduate coursework.  If a waiver is not granted, students may opt to take waiver examinations.

How can I find out how many credits I will need to complete my degree?
The number of credits required depends on your prior academic and professional experience.  There is a required minimum of 33 credits and a required maximum of 48 credits.  The most efficient way to see how many courses will be required is to request a Model Roster.  Fax a copy of your undergraduate transcript and your resume to the MBA Office at 215.951.1886.  We will review your credentials and can either fax or mail your completed Model Roster to you.

What if I don’t have prior business courses and need to take most of the Foundation courses?
You can complete your foundation courses in the regular part-time evening program and then move into the Saturday MBA program to finish your degree.

Is it possible to transfer credits from another MBA Program?
Students may transfer up to six credits from another graduate business program. A grade of “B” or better is required in classes transferred and each request is evaluated on its own merits.

What will my specialization be in the Saturday MBA Program?

Students in the Saturday MBA program will earn a General Business Specialization.  Employers are interested in well rounded students who can think in broad terms.  The General Business Specialization exposes students to a cross section of disciplines including Accounting, Finance, International Business, Management, and Marketing.  Selected specialization courses will be offered in the Saturday MBA sequence.

Is it possible to register for MBA courses prior to being admitted to La Salle’s program?
No, students must be accepted into the program in order to register for courses.

When is the application deadline?
Although there are no formal application deadlines, we recommend that all documents be submitted to us by August 15 (Fall), December 15 (Spring), and April 15 (Summer).  Saturday MBA classes fill quickly, so early application is strongly recommended.
