MS Speech-Language
Pathology*
La Salle University's Speech-Language-Hearing Science Program is proud to announce that the 2008 MS in Speech-Language Pathology graduates received a 100% pass rate on the National Examination in Speech-Language Pathology (NESPA) PRAXIS test. This is a national test that all speech-language pathologists must take to become certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). The average national pass rate is 75%. This is the second year in a row that we have achieved this accomplishment.
A basic human birthright is our ability to communicate. Speech-Language
Pathologists help people who have never developed, or lost this
ability due to illness or injury. Speech-language pathologists care
for patients of all ages with communication disorders. They assess,
treat, and help to prevent speech, language, cognitive communication,
voice, swallowing, fluency, and related disorders. They work in
hospitals rehabilitation centers, schools, private practices and
more. The master's degree is the standard credential in the field.
You can earn the master's degree at La Salle University's Speech-Language-Hearing
Science Program.
*If you do not have a bachelor's degree in Communication
Sciences and Disorders or in Speech-Language Hearing Sciences, please
go to the PreSLP
website. The PreSLP program offers a suite of 10 prerequisite
courses needed to apply to a master's program. You can fill out
an application through the PreSLP
website.
