Nearly 300 golfers and friends of La Salle enjoyed a day of golf and entertainment at the tenth annual President’s Cup held at Blue Bell Country Club on April 21. Over the past ten years, the President’s Cup has raised over $2 million for student scholarships and financial aid, and this year, the event helped raise $205,000.  Graduating senior, Diana Holland, an education major from Philadelphia, shared her gratitude with all on behalf of herself and her fellow students who have received financial assistance from the University, which helped to make their Lasallian educations a reality.     

The day was filled with golf, and the evening revolved around the silent auction, dinner banquet, golf awards for the day’s top teams, and the raffle.  The voice of the Hayman Center basketball games, Kevin Casey, led the evening’s live auction.  Our hosts, Bud Hansen Jr., ’58 and Bud Hansen III, ’90 already are looking forward to the next decade of President’s Cups at Blue Bell Country Club.    

Before the evening ended, Brother Michael J. McGinniss, FSC, PhD, ’70 congratulated the winning foursome from The Great Britains of Willow Grove, including Tom Burton, Harry Ley, Bob Nicholls, and Mike Smyth.
