The strength of our biology department’s curriculum is in its ability to provide you with a solid foundation in the fundamentals of biology. Rather than train you in a specialized field that may limit you later, our approach is to prepare you for countless career and education opportunities by providing the basic background in biology, chemistry, physics and math you’ll first need.
Whether your interest is in areas as diverse as ecology, genetics, marine biology, neurobiology or the health professions (medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine), an undergraduate degree from La Salle will give you the broad background requirements necessary for graduate studies in the field of your choice. You’ll develop the same strong science core all biology majors are expected to have as well as pursue your own particular interests.
Our curriculum will also help prepare you if you intend to pursue a professional career immediately after graduating. Pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, health clinics, government agencies and research institutes are all actively seeking those with a degree in biology.
