The La Salle University School of Business Scholars Co-op Program is designed to compete with cooperative education programs offered by the nation’s top colleges and universities. Our uniquely designed program surpasses others by offering an accelerated curriculum that enables students to graduate in only four years. Throughout the four-year program there are two full-time work opportunities for the co-op student: four months and eight months.
Students selected for the Business Scholars Co-op Program have proven themselves as highly motivated academic achievers, and have demonstrated themselves as leaders both in and out the classroom. Top students from high schools throughout the Mid-Atlantic region are recruited based on achieving an exceptional SAT score of 1200 or higher, a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher, and ranked in the 1st quintile of their high school graduating class. These qualities made them eligible as candidates for the Program.
Our Business Scholars Co-op Students apply for our program and are interviewed and selected by a committee. The students are enrolled in one of five major programs; Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Marketing, and Organizational Management. The program synthesizes theory, professional development, and applied learning through two work experiences.
The Business Scholars Co-op Program Office works with our corporate partners through a consultative approach, to understand the organization’s employment needs. We then screen our Co-op pool to identify candidates that best fit those needs. The best candidates are then referred to the corporate partner to interview for job specific work assignments. The hiring manager will then make an offer to the successful candidate.
