Thomas Straub, Ph.D.

Dr. Thomas S. Straub received a M.S. from the University of Minnesota and a Ph.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He conducted postdoctoral research at Northwestern University. He currently holds the rank of Professor in La Salle’s Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, where he has served as Department Chair for a total of 20 years. During this time, he was a recipient of the Christian R. and Mary L. Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching and has active research projects developing safer, greener, and better reagents for standard organic reactions. He is active in the Philadelphia Section of the American Chemical Society where he has served as section Chair and is serving both as Education Committee Chair and Tellers’ Committee Chair and has been on the Philadelphia Section Board of Directors for 17 years.
