Editor's Note: Ficition Magazine
This week, my writers and I have dedicated ourselves to the noble pursuit of fiction writing. However, not content with merely asking for stories of a conventional length, I imposed upon my staff the limit of 250 - 300 words. This brevity forces upon the writer a certain type of storytelling that I am excited to share with you. The stories range from the ludicrously funny (Melissa Mongi’s “An Affair for Squirrels”) to the heart-tugging (Kate Knowles’ “Signs of Hope”), from the bizarre (Sam Fran Scavuzzo’s “Freshman”) to the poignant (Cory Anotado’s “City Night”). Read well, friends, and enjoy. These works are labors of love, strongly written and produced for you. I speak for my writers in this welcome, just as my writers speak for their muses in their writing. costellom4@lasalle.edu |
