Top 5—The tours of my dreams
Ever imagine a tour of your favorite artists, young and old, teaming up to rock your face off? Lord knows I have and here is my top five list of tag-team tours that should come to pass because I want them to play. Just imagine that new band backing your favorite classic band in a mega tour that would surely be amazing. In this list, you will get the artists with my dream team up along with the best possible on-stage collaboration. 5) King Crimson and Primus—Prog rock at it’s most insane, the best of both worlds would come together to make musical fusion that could power the stars. On-stage collabo—Les Claypool joining Crimson on stage for “21st Century Schizoid Man.” 4) The Velvet Underground and Sonic Youth—This would end up being the loudest concert you’d ever hear, so make it the last one on your list to attend. Regardless, it would be an amazing event to see these two bands join forces. On-stage collabo—Both bands joining for a rendition of “Venus in Furs.” 3) Neil Young and Wilco—This tour is long overdue. The blending of country and rock would be the best possible on-stage performance to ravage the states. On-stage collabo—Wilco backs up Young for a sick rendition of “Cortez the Killer.” 2) Talking Heads and The Flaming Lips—This would be the best onstage antics this side of the circus. Wayne Coyne and David Byrne would bring genius to a new level. On-stage collabo—The bands would meet up to do a sick rendition of “The Great Curve.” 1) David Bowie and The Arcade Fire—I cheated here because they have collaborated a couple of times, but that doesn’t mean they should stop at just special events. Seriously, world tour! On-stage collabo—Bowie sings lead on “Crown of Love.” tsikitp1@lasalle.edu |
