Treetops ready to deliver
Starting in a few weeks, Treetops Café will fill the need for the late-night snacker unwilling to leave his or her dormitory. From 4:30 – 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, students can have food delivered to them from the dining hall on south campus. Treetops’ general manager John Williamson is excited for the delivery to get underway. “Food Services was challenged by our director for fresh ideas. We want to keep students interested in La Salle’s food choices,” Williamson said, “We’re working hard to make students think twice about ordering from Kirk’s, China America or Domino’s.” Some logistics of the new system are still being worked out, but for now, the basic layout has been planned. Any student living on campus will be able to call the dining hall. The menu will include things available normally at Treetops, as well as some additional items.“Things like chicken wings, mozzarella sticks and bottled soda will be on the delivery menu,” said Williamson. Budgeted student workers will go door-to-door making the deliveries on a yet-to-be purchased golf cart. To ensure the student’s safety, they will not be carrying cash; only Gold Card will be accepted. The new system will be closed on Friday and Saturday to promote attendance at the Union’s services – Café Metro and Backstage. Still, the evening-to-late-night dining option will be a blessing to students during the working week. Williamson encourages any student interested in employment to contact Food Services at ext. 1388.
