WEXP show features underground acts
La Salle rock fans: Do you love supporting local bands? Do you take every chance you can get to attend concerts and discover new music? Do you want to support La Salle student radio? If so, then be sure to check out the WEXP concert on Wednesday, Oct. 18 in Backstage from 7-10 p.m. Spotlight contacted Mike Viso, WEXP’s promotions director, to get the scoop on the show. Spotlight: Is the show only for La Salle students, or can anyone come? Mike Viso: It’s for everyone, not just La Salle students. SP: How much will it cost to attend? MV: It’s a free event, so anyone can feel free to walk in and stay for a while. SP: What bands are performing? MV: The headlining band are nationally-touring Golden Shoulders. Their Web site is GoldenShoulders.com if anyone wants to find out more about them. Also playing is local band Willpowerless, with La Salle’s own sophomore Craig Steele as the guitarist. Their Web site is Willpowerless.com. The first band performing will be Foward Motion. They’re a Jersey band. Some of the members go to The College of New Jersey, and the piano player is WEXP DJ Matt Neder’s twin, Doug. SP: How would you describe the type of music the bands play? MV: The Golden Shoulders play alternative-type music. Willpowerless is more of a rock/soft metal/mixed group. SP: Is there anything else you’d like to add about the show? MV: There will be brand new WEXP T-shirts on sale for $10, and the bands will be selling merchandise as well. There will also be free food at this event, so people should be sure to come out. williamskl1@lasalle.edu |
