Students can come on down for game show night

Late Night La Salle and CAOS. are planning a fun-filled first Friday night back from Spring Break this year. Sophomore DArt major Cory Anotado will be hosting the Game Show Marathon from 10:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. on March 16 in the Dan Rodden Theatre. Spotlight! caught up with Melinda Massaro, former Late Night La Salle Coordinator and current International Education Coordinator, to find out more information.

Spotlight: How did this event get started?

Melinda Massaro: Well, Cory is the game show guru when it comes to inventing games on the computer. We’ve done Deal or No Deal and The Price is Right through Late Night before, and those are always well-attended. So, Cory came up with the idea of combining a bunch of different game shows to make one long event.

S: Which shows are going to be featured?

MM: Jeopardy, Lingo, The Price is Right and Press Your Luck.

S: How can students play? Should they just show up or do they need to fill out something before?

MM: They can just show up. Everyone will get a ticket at the door, and if Cory calls out your number, you can play the game.

S: Will the winners receive prizes?

MM: Oh yes, there’s lots of prizes. Right now we have portable DVD players, some DVDs, box sets and MP3 players as the big prizes. We also have smaller prizes like board games or gift cards for various denominations.

S: Do you have anything else to add?

MM: I think that it’ll be a great time for students. I know that they love these game shows and because this will be a bunch of them together it won’t get boring. There’s only so many hours that you can watch Deal or No Deal before it gets old, but with this event, there will always be something new to watch or play.
