Annual Crystal Ball lies in La Salle’s future
If you love dressing up, and the fact that most formals won’t be held until the middle of the semester is getting you down, don’t despair! On Friday, Jan. 26, the Organization of Latin American Students (O.L.A.S.), Commuter and Off Campus Student Association (C.A.O.S.) and Late Night La Salle will be presenting the annual Crystal Ball. It will take place from 9:30 p.m.-2 a.m. in the Union Ballroom. Spotlight sat down with senior Finance major Tia Johnson, the president of C.A.O.S., to get more information. Spotlight: Who is invited to this event? Tia Johnson: All students, both on-campus and off, of course. Students can bring non-Lasallian guests as well. SP: Is there a cover to get in? TJ: No, this event is completely free. SP: What is the dress code? TJ: This is a semi-formal event, so they should be wearing semi-formal attire, meaning no jeans, T-shirts, hats or sneakers. SP: What should students expect when they attend? TJ: They should expect a cross-cultural and well-rounded experience. There will be a buffet featuring Spanish food and a DJ spinning music. SP: What kind of music will be played? TJ: Hip-hop, salsa, merengue, bachata and reggaeton. The DJ is DJ LEX. SP: What do you hope will be the outcome of the Crystal Ball? TJ: I hope that C.A.O.S. will continue being a bridge of communication between organizations. By hosting events with other groups, we are able to make different groups, ethnicities and cultures more unified and less secluded. I also hope that the students will have a great time at this event, and I think that they will. williamsk1@lasalle.edu |
