Billy Kern Baseball Northfield, NJ Infielder Junior

Billy Kern had a big week at the plate for the Explorers. In four games, he went 9 for 17 with seven runs scored. With his excellent work this week, Kern extended his current hitting streak to 10 games. Last year, Kern had a hitting streak that lasted 11 games.

Male Honorable Mention: Freshman Orestes Medina had a big performance for the Explorers at the Widener Invitational. His 21-08.75 mark in the long jump was good for second place overall, and his mark of 43-09.75 in the triple jump earned him a third place finish.

Rachel Papin Track and Field Philadelphia, PA 5,000-meter run Junior

After easily qualifying for NCAA regionals at Princeton in the Larry Ellis Invitational, Papin was named the Atlantic 10 Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Performer of the Week. She finished the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:29.69. It is the second time she has received the award this season.

Female Honorable Mention: Despite an 0-4 week for the softball team as a whole, junior Laura DeZolt had some strong performances. In both of her starts on the mound, she went six innings and kept her team in the game. At the plate this week, DeZolt went 4 for 11, including a home run.
