Collegian Athletes of the Week

Jeremy Ortiz Soccer Mount Laurel, N.J. MF/F Junior

In the Explorers’ blowout of the Massachusetts Minutemen, Ortiz had a big game. He had a goal and two assists in the contest, all of which came in the second half. La Salle won by a score of 5-0. With the win, the team improved to 5-5-1 on the season.

Male Honorable Mention: Senior Sean Quigley of the cross country team had a time of 23.55.00 in the Colonial Inter-Regional, good for second place. He was honored by the Atlantic 10 as the Cross Country Performer of the Week.

Dana Giordano Soccer Cinnaminson, N.J. MF/F Sophomore

Giordano came off the bench to score two goals in the Explorers’ road game against Massachusetts on Sunday. Her goals alone were enough to win the game, as the Explorers came out with a 3-1 victory. This win boosted La Salle to 4-7 on the year.

Female Honorable Mention: Sophomore Lauren Perry’s performance in the tennis team’s match against Philadelphia on Thursday was vital to the team’s success. She came back to win her singles match 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. She and senior Joann Lee won their doubles match as well.
