Collegian Athletes of the Week
In a defensive struggle at Ursinus, the Explorers found themselves locked up at 0-0 in the second quarter. The Bears were pinned deep in their own territory, and DePinto came up with a safety to put the Explorers up 2-0. Unfortunately, this was the end of the scoring for La Salle.
Male Honorable Mention:
Anthony Perlozzo had a busy day punting for La Salle on Saturday. He punted eight times, averaging 37.9 yards per punt. Four of these eight punts were downed inside the Ursinus 20-yard line, and two of them were downed inside the five.
Sullivan had 46 kills this week, including 31 at the Bucknell Invitational. In the match against Wagner, she had 17 kills and 11 digs. Her performance at the Invitational was good enough to earn her a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Female Honorable Mention: Senior Rachel Papin finished second in her cross country event at the Lock Haven Invitational. She is expected to have a big year. This summer, she was honored nationally by being named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team. |
