Commencement Events

La Salle Main Campus, Hayman Center
Ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m.

What you need to know

  • Graduates are to report to St. Benilde Tower no later than 9:15 a.m. Both are located immediately outside the Hayman Center.
  • Graduates must obtain the index card with his/her name from the Registrar’s Office table in the St. Benilde Tower Atrium. Students without their index card, will not have their name read during the ceremony.
  • The ceremony procession will begin promptly at 10 a.m.
  • The ceremony will last approximately 90 minutes.
  • Graduates will line up and be seated by academic program, as directed by ceremony marshals.
  • Male graduates should remove their caps for the invocation, national anthem, and closing prayer. Females do not need to remove their caps.
  • Graduates with physical disabilities who are not able to climb the stairs onto the stage should contact the Commencement office at 215.951.1900 or email commencement@lasalle.edu no later than May 8 to make alternative arrangements.
  • Your photo will be taken as you exit the stage by a University Commencement photographer.
  • Diplomas will be distributed in St. Benilde Tower immediately following the ceremony. Room locations will be printed on the copy diploma you are given during the ceremony.
  • Coffee, juice, and snacks may be purchased in the hospitality tent outside of the Hayman Center from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Guests are asked not to take food and beverages to the arena level. Several self-service water coolers available.
  • The Campus Store, located in Wister Hall, will be open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

La Salle Main Campus, McCarthy Stadium
Ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m.

What you need to know

  • Graduates are to report to Olney Hall no later than 9:15 a.m.
  • Graduates must obtain the index card with his/her name from the Registrar’s Office table in Olney lobby. Students without their index card, will not have their name read during the ceremony.
  • The ceremony procession will begin promptly at 10 a.m.
  • Graduates will line up and be seated by academic degree, as directed by ceremony marshals.
  • Male graduates should remove their caps for the invocation, national anthem, and closing prayer. Females do not need to remove their caps.
  • Graduates with physical disabilities who are not able to climb the stairs onto the stage should contact the Commencement office at 215.951.1900 or email commencement@lasalle.edu no later than May 8 to make alternative arrangements.
  • Diplomas will be distributed immediately following the ceremony in Olney Hall.
  • Coffee, juice, and breakfast pastries may be purchased in the Food Court, located in the La Salle Union from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. the day of Commencement.
  • The Campus Store, located in Wister Hall, will be open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

La Salle Main Campus, Hayman Center
Liturgy Begins at 6 p.m.

The Baccalaureate Liturgy will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 in the Hayman Center. Graduates, along with guests, are invited to participate. Tickets are not required for the Mass. The liturgy normally lasts 60 to 75 minutes.

Graduates are asked to report to the appropriate vesting area at 5 p.m., according to their major.

The procession will begin promptly at 5:40 p.m.

The cap is not worn for Baccalaureate Mass

Hoods are to be worn.

La Salle Main Campus, Tennis Courts
7:30 – 10:30 p.m.

Following Baccalaureate Mass, La Salle University and the Alumni Association invite families, friends, and members of the faculty and staff to join the graduates at the Graduation Gala. Tickets cost $40 and include a fun evening of food, drinks, music, and celebration. Tickets are available to purchase here.
