The Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in McCarthy Stadium on La Salle’s Main Campus. This ceremony is for students receiving a B.A. (Bachelor of Arts), B.S. (Bachelor of Science), BSBA (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration), BSW (Bachelor of Social Work), BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing), and a BSNutr (Bachelor of Science in Nutrition).Graduate Vesting
Graduates are to report to Olney Hall no later than 9:15 a.m. The procession will begin promptly at 10 a.m. Marshals will align the academic procession.
The Procession will move in the following order:
- Bachelor’s Degree Candidates
- Associate’s Degree Candidates
- Faculty, Department Chairs, and Administration Staff
- Provost, Vice Presidents, and Deans
- Members of the Board of Trustees
- Honorary Degree Recipient and Sponsor
Graduates will not be aligned in alphabetical order but will be arranged according to undergraduate degree.
Marshals will specify area and row. Please follow their directions and fill the row so that no seat is left unoccupied. Remain standing until you are directed to be seated.
Male candidates remove caps for the Invocation, National Anthem, and Closing Prayer. Female candidates do not need to remove their caps at any time during the ceremony.
Please Note: Students with physical disabilities who are not able to climb the stairs onto the stage should contact the Commencement Coordinator at 215.951.1900 or e-mail email@example.com no later than May 8 to make alternative arrangements.
When arriving to vest in Olney hall by 9:15 a.m., the graduate should report to the Registrar’s Office station located in the lobby and obtain a card with his/her name already imprinted. A graduate who fails to bring this card into McCarthy Stadium will not have his/her name read during the ceremony.
Those on stage exit first, followed by the faculty, the bachelor’s degree recipients, and the associates degree recipients. Please follow the directions of the ushers. The exit order will be from the front row to the back.
Diplomas will be distributed in Olney Hall immediately following the ceremony. Room locations are listed on the facsimile diploma given to each graduate during the Commencement Ceremony. Dual majors should go to the room assigned to their primary major.
The Office of the University Registrar reserves the right to withhold the diploma and/or transcript of any graduate who has an unfulfilled obligation to the University (academic, disciplinary, library, financial, etc.). You may view your holds by accessing the “Brother LUWIS” link on the mylasalle portal.
Diplomas and transcripts will be withheld if any of the following conditions exist: an unfulfilled academic requirement, an outstanding disciplinary sanction, and/or a financial obligation.
The eBilling/ePayment solution will allow you to view and pay your bill electronically. To do so, log in to your MyLaSalle account at my.lasalle.edu and select Brother LUWIS. Then select Student and Financial Aid, then Student and Accounts Receivable. In just a few simple clicks, you can remit credit card and ACH payments. Credit card payments, such as American Express, Discover, and MasterCard, are subject to a 2.75 percent convenience fee; however, ACH payments are not subject to a convenience fee. To make an ACH payment, you must have your routing number available. The Office of Student and Accounts Receivable is located on the first floor of the Lawrence Administration Center. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
A reception for students and their families will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2015, immediately following the Commencement Ceremony. Beverages and light snacks will be served on the Union patio and surrounding area. Should Commencement be moved to the Hayman Center due to inclement weather, the reception will not be held. The Faculty, Staff, and Graduate reception is open free of charge to all graduates, their families, and friends.
