La Salle's Response to Hurricane Katrina: An Update
The University has enrolled three students who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
The collections taken at the Sunday liturgies on campus since the disaster are being directed to hurricane relief.
Other activities designed to raise funds and other resources are being planned and carried out by student organizations.
A candlelight prayer vigil on the Main Quad, attended by students, faculty and staff, was held on September 7.
La Salle students volunteered to pack and ship clothing and other supplies to hurricane victims.
The Alumni Association has donated $1,000 to hurricane relief in the names of the 69 La Salle alumni who live in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
Plans to assist Lasallian schools and their students in New Orleans are in the works.
On the drawing board are a blood drive and a student service trip.
The La Salle Community continues to keep the hurricane victims and all those who are helping them in our thoughts and prayers.
