Welcome to Outlook Live, La Salle's new student email solution. Your new email account is already set up, but there are a few steps you need to take to get started.

step 1

You must use Internet Explorer 7 for the setup process. Other browsers will NOT work! Once your new account is set up you can use any browser you prefer to check your email.

There are a few steps you need to take to set up your account. First, open Internet Explorer 7 and go to outlook.com. You will be prompted to enter your Windows Live ID* and password. Your Windows Live ID is your mylasalle username followed by @student.lasalle.edu (ex. smithj1@student.lasalle.edu). Your password is your birthday, followed by a period, followed by the first 3 letters of your last name (ex. MMDDYY.abc).

After you log in you will need to set up the preferences your your account, such as create a new password, answer a secret question (in case you forget your password in the future), and set your location. To see detailed instructions, use the following link-

* if you already have a Windows Live account saved on your computer, you will need to click the "Sign in with a different account" link.

step2

This step is optional. Complete the following instructions if you want to move your old email messages from your old account into your new email account.

Migrating your old Lotus Notes email to your new Exchange Labs account is a simple process. When you are in your new email account, click the link to migrate your mail (in lower left corner, in the Organization links section)*.

You will be taken to a form. Please fill in the following information-
Old User ID- Your mylasalle username
Old Password- The first 5 numbers of your social security number, an underscore, and then the first 3 letters of your username (ex. 12345_abc)
New User ID- Your mylasalle username
New Password- The new password you set for your account in Step 1.

Click the Log In button. You will then need to choose if you want to migrate all of your old mail or only 1 folder. After you make your choice click the Migrate button.

This process could take a few seconds or a few minutes. It depends on how many emails you had saved in your old account.

*if you are not in Internet Explorer 7 you will not be able to see the link. Click here to go directly to the migration tool.
