Step 1:
Complete the 2010-2011 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 15 for priority consideration. Our Title IV code is 003287. The PHEAA State Grant priority deadline date for undergraduates is May 1. You will still be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant and Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loan if you apply after April 15.
Remember, it takes at least six weeks for the processing of financial aid and loans. If you wish to have your bill paid in full by the beginning of the term and receive any excess funds in a timely manner, you must complete the above items by this six-week deadline. No financial aid can be processed once you cease to be enrolled.
Step 2:
Complete the Web Institutional Data Form (WIDF) by April 15. You will be notified via email when the form is available. No aid will be awarded until this form is completed.
Step 3:
Every year, the federal government randomly selects a group of students for verification. If you're selected, you will be required to submit additional documentation in order to complete your application. This paperwork can be obtained from the forms section of the Student Financial Services website.
Aside from verification, there may be other special circumstances pertaining to your application, for which we will need to collect various documentation. You will receive a letter that details the additional documentation needed. All documentation must be submitted within 30 days of receipt of our request letter. (See the section below on deadlines for more information). No aid will be awarded until all requested documentation is received by our office.

Why Are These Deadline Dates So Important to You?
The purpose of our deadlines is to assure that your financial aid is credited to your account by the start of the fall term. However, filing late or submitting requested documentation after the deadline may cause a reduction in your financial aid award or a delay in having your aid credited to your account.
If you miss the application or the additional documentation deadline, you must be prepared to use the Actively Managed Payment Plan (AMPP), administered by Nelnet Business Solutions. Information concerning the payment plan can be obtained by contacting 800-609-8056. If you do not make the necessary payment arrangements, you will incur a late charge that will not be waived. Also, if you miss the deadlines and your financial aid is not in place, then you must be prepared for a delay in receiving a refund check for living expenses or a transfer of funds to your gold card to buy books.
