Financial Aid Eligibility

What is my aid eligibility if I am in a preparatory program or am taking prerequisites to get into a Master’s program?
Students can be funded with Federal financial aid for twelve consecutive months if the student is in a prerequisite program with at least 6 credits/semester.   Aid eligibility consists of Direct loans, so long as the student has remaining undergraduate aggregate eligibility. This needs to be verified by printing and checking their NSLDS record. All students are considered fifth year students for federal Direct Loan limit eligibility ($5500/year in subsidized and up to $7000/year in unsubsidized funds based on dependency status and/or Parent PLUS denial) since they already have Bachelor’s degree.

Qualifying preparatory programs at La Salle are:

  • Pre-Speech, Language and Hearing;
  • Pre-Med;
  • RN-MSN Bridge; or
  • Prerequisites to get into a Master’s program
