Pennsylvania New Economy Technology Scholarship Program for Undergraduates
Former Governor Tom Ridge and the General Assembly established the SciTech
Scholarships and the GI Bill for the New Economy to prepare Pennsylvania students to
succeed in the new, technology-based
economy of the 21st Century, and to stem the migration of Pennsylvania's
young people to other states. These scholarships also address the critical need of educating and
retaining a workforce of highly trained technology experts to help Pennsylvania attract and support new
employers.
The SciTech Scholarship Grant and the GI Bill for the New Economy
are awarded through this program. Funds under this program will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve
basis.
The NETS (New Economy Technology Scholarship) Program did not receive funding for the 2011–2012 academic year. Students who received funds in 2010–2011 are still able to renew if they meet the eligibility requirements.
