General Stafford Eligibility for Undergraduate students

Borrower Eligibility:
Students must be a US citizen or permanent resident enrolled at least half time (for undergraduate students this means at least 6 credits in a semester at La Salle). Must not be in default on any education loan or owe a refund on an education grant.

*Annual Loan Limits - Subsidized & Unsubsidized** * The SUBSIDIZED Stafford Loan is available to students who demonstrate financial need. ** Effective July 1, 2008 will not apply to Summer 20008 loans
Years	Dependent Undergraduate	Independent Undergraduate or Dependent Students with parents denied for a Parent plus loan
1st	$5,500 - No more than $3,500 of this amount may be in subsidized loans	$9,500 - No more than $3,500 of this amount may be in subsidized loans
2nd	$6,500 - No more than $4,500 of this amount may be in subsidized loans	$10,500 - No more than $4,500 of this amount may be in subsidized loans
3rd & Beyond (each year)	$7,500 - No more than $5,500 of this amount may be in subsidized loans	$11,500 - No more than $5,500 of this amount may be in subsidized loans
Maximum total debt	$31,000 - No more than $23,000 of this amount may be in subsidized loans	$57,500 - No more than $23,000 of this amount may be in subsidized loans
