Bilingual/Bicultural Studies Concentration
The concentration in Bilingual/Bicultural Studies is a four course, 12-credit program for educators who work with the ever-growing Hispanic population of the Philadelphia area and the nation. It prepares teachers who serve Latino populations by developing their awareness of the role of race, ethnicity, language, and cultural and social stratification in Latino and other minority groups to designing curriculum models for bilingual/bicultural education.
Students are encouraged to apply regardless of their current proficiency level in the Spanish language since the concentration is geared toward educators at all levels of Spanish proficiency.
