The graduate religion program at La Salle University seeks to provide a solid theological education preparing students for lay ministry in the church as well as providing a foundation for more advanced studies. Roman Catholic in its orientation, the program seeks to foster a truly ecumenical spirit with a faculty and student body representing various Christian churches and faith traditions.

This program offers concentrations in Theological Studies, Religious Education, Pastoral Care, Liturgical Studies, and Church Ministry. The concentration in Theological Studies focuses on research and the systematic study of biblical, dogmatic, and spiritual theology. The concentration in Religious Education prepares graduates for work in parish religious education and youth ministry. Students interested in lay chaplaincy or ministry as pastoral associates would benefit from the concentration in Pastoral Care. Church musicians and those interested in advances studies in Christian worship should follow the curriculum for Liturgical Studies. The Church Ministry concentration is designed for students in formation for Lay Ecclesial Ministry. Other candidates for this concentration would include permanent deacons and others who complete a formation program for ministry in the Catholic Church.

Additionally, the Theology and Ministry program offers a post-Master's certificate in Pastoral Counseling. This 18 credit programs requires the prerequisite of a Master's degree in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or Social Work with a concentration in Counseling.

All of the concentrations empower students to critically analyze diverse theological perspectives, to employ thehistorical-critical method of biblical interpretation, and to apply theology to pastoral practice.
