Hello La Salle Health Studies Students:
We are excited to inform you that beginning in Fall 2013 La Salle University will be offering a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health (B.S. Public Health) degree.
At La Salle University, we believe that the health and safety of communities, including vulnerable and diverse groups, is essential to the welfare of global citizens. This new Bachelor’s degree provides a professionally-focused program that promotes students’ understanding of broad and focused public health concerns in community, regional, and state-wide locations as well as nationally and internationally.
The B.S. in Public Health curriculum includes major courses ranging from basic concepts of public health to informatics; epidemiology; health education; violence prevention; health policy; practicums in community settings; and a final capstone project. You can find more information about the B.S. Public Health major at http://www.lasalle.edu/schools/snhs/publichealth/.
If you are a new or current Health Studies Major (Freshman or Sophomore in Fall 2013), you will be advised to declare the Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health as your new major.
If you are nearing the completion of your Health Studies degree (Junior or Senior in Fall 2013), you may remain in the Health Studies major until graduation.
If you have any questions about this exciting new program, please feel free to contact Sr. Rose Carmel Scalone, email@example.com for more details.
