A Typical Day - Junior Cecile

Cecile
Van Oppen is a junior double major in Political Science
and Economic & International Studies, with a minor in
Mathematics. Cecile is originally from the Netherlands.
She has lived in three different countries, and can speak
six different languages.
At La Salle, Cecile swims the backstroke and sprint
freestyle for the Women's Swim Team. She holds the school
record in the 200 Medley Relay, swimming the backstroke
portion of the relay. Also within the athletics
department, Cecile is a member of the Project Teamwork
Athletic Planning Committee which organizes community
service projects for student-athletes to participate in,
as well as an assistant to the Field Hockey team for
which she used to play.
In addition to athletics, Cecile is the President of
the Cross-Cultural Association (CCA), a student-elected
Board Member of the Political Science Department, and is
a part of the Communter and Off Campus Association's
Off-Campus Student Board.
Outside of La Salle, Cecil loves sailing and teaches
kids age 8-18 to sail. She has also interned with various
government offices such as the Dutch Ministry of
Recreation and the International Court of Justice in the
Hague.
