Tonya Ellis:
La Salle 56 relies on students to write scripts,
shoot video, edit packages, create graphics, call crew, and
host programs. The students, however, depend on the station
manager to oversee those productions and get them on air.
Station
manager Tonya Ellis is responsible for
La Salle 56's daily operations along with all show production.
Having a full-time staff member allows students to concentrate
on their perfecting skills instead of worrying about repairing
equipment and programming shows.
Once
a student crewmember herself, Tonya graduated with a B.A.
from La Salle's Communication and English departments. After
working at an advertising agency for a couple years, she enthusiastically
returned to her alma mater as 56's general manager. While
rebuilding the station, she also earned her M.A. in Professional
Communication.
If
she's not editing or working in the studio, Tonya can probably
be found in the classroom where she teaches media production.
Tonya
lives in Bucks County with her husband Pete, her 3-year old
son/station mascot Peter, her dog and cat.
