The purpose of the Young Broadcasters is to explore broadcasting and production careers while also working with the University's cable station, La Salle 56, in order to gain experience.

This group will serve Communication students as well as other La Salle University students with opportunities to express creativity and learn about the field of Broadcasting.

The Young Broadcasters hopes to expand on the Communication experience through television production, workshops, and University events. The Young Broadcasters recognizes its dual responsibilities to its members as well as the larger La Salle community.

The three goals of the organization are: service, primarily through the development and execution of television programs that appear on La Salle 56; education of its members through workshops (focusing on career information and skill development); and interaction with professionals in Broadcasting (by attending outside workshops/conferences, such as those held by The Broadcast Pioneers and The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences), and the development of skills needed to pursue a career in Broadcasting.

Through these goals, as well as working with La Salle 56, The Young Broadcasters hope to develop skills and education in the field of Broadcasting.
