Connelly Chronicle » Novels for Students

Date Posted: October 26, 2012

Novels for Students is a useful tool for writing papers, re-searching, or learning about a book before you actually read it. Similar to SparkNotes or CliffsNotes but expect better information.

“The purpose..is to provide readers with a guide to understanding, en-joying, and studying novels by giving them easy access to information about the work.”

You will find basic information about each novel, such as plot summary, characters, themes, style, historical con-text, critical overview, and criticism. Each entry also in-cludes an author biography. Other helpful information includes media adaptations, topics for further study and compare and contrast.

Overall, I would recommend Novels for Students as a helpful guide when you are doing research on a particular book or you want to learn about a book without actually reading it.
