The library is in the process of moving DVDs to the first floor, starting with our feature films. You can browse these films and check them out at the Circulation Desk whenever the library is open. In the catalog, the location of these items is VIDEO SHELVES, 1st Floor.
The AV department will be open Monday-Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. If you need to pick up videos after 5 PM or on weekends, please email James Bednarz (firstname.lastname@example.org) or call the AV department (x. 1295) during our open hours. We will leave your videos at the Circulation Desk for you to pick up. During the move, it may take longer to locate videos, so we encourage you to call in advance if you need a video on a specific date.
All videos can be returned to either the AV Department or the Circulation Desk at any time, even when the AV department is open. Please do not place videos in the book drop as this can damage them.
Hold and reserve videos will be available at the Circulation Desk whenever the library is open. TVs with VCRs and DVD players are available in a viewing room on the first floor.
If you’d like the library to order a new video, please submit your request to the library’s Acquisitions Department at email@example.com or x. 1290. If you’d like to have a VHS transferred to DVD, you can also contact the Acquisitions Department.
Information for faculty
The Circulation Department will now be handling all reserve and hold requests. Reserve videos are set aside for students to watch and can be restricted to library use only or one-day checkout. Hold videos are set aside for faculty to check out on a particular date, usually to show in class. To place a video on hold or on reserve, please contact the Circulation Department at x. 1292 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you’d like to allow students or staff to check out videos for you on your library account, please remember to fill out a faculty borrowing form and return it to the library’s Circulation Department. You can pick up a form at the Circulation Desk.
Please contact Rebecca Goldman, Media and Digital Services Librarian, at email@example.com or x. 1965 with any questions or concerns.
